What is Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams is a business communication platform developed by Microsoft as part of the Microsoft 365 suite. It combines persistent workplace chat, video meetings, file storage (via SharePoint and OneDrive), and integration with other Microsoft 365 apps into a single hub.

Teams was launched in March 2017 as Microsoft's answer to the rise of workplace messaging tools, and it later absorbed Skype for Business as Microsoft's primary meeting and calling platform. It's now used extensively by enterprises, schools, and government organizations for both internal collaboration and external meetings.
